I am elven year old boy and I am interested in health. I have always heard the phrase "An apple a day, keeps the doctor away". The phrase is true. Apples are very rich in fiber, which keeps your bowels functioning and helps prevent constipation. Vitamin A keeps your skin from becoming dry and hardened. Vitamin C builds a strong immune system. A strong immune system means that your body can fight the common cold and other types of viruses. Potassium can keep your blood sugar from getting too low, so that you won't faint. Calcium keeps certain types of cancers away. Calcium also keeps your bones strong. Magnesium is a vitamin that supports helathy bones, too. The detoxifying effect keeps your body clean from infection.
